猫

雨が降り出したのでブラインドを全開にしたら、このところちょくちょくオフィスの窓辺に出没する猫ちゃんがやってきました。じっとこちらを見ているのでシャッターチャンス！と思ったのですが、カメラを向けた途端横向きに。。。仕事中の私を和ませてくれる、猫です。
As it started to rain, I drew up the blinds. Soon after, a cat, who lately shows up by my office window once in a while, showed up. It looked at me for a while without moving, and I thought I could take a good picture of it. However, it looked away and started to move as soon as I held a camera. She/he is the one who soothes me when I am working hard.

ゴーヤーの初収穫

今日もミニトマト、ピーマン、シソが大豊作。だけど、今日の主役は何と言っても初めて収穫したゴーヤー。これからの実つきをよくするため、小さめで収穫しましたが、いとおしくて仕方がありません。
I had a good crop of grape tomato, green pepper and Japanese basil again. Today's emphasis, however, must be on goya, which are the first crop. In order to get better crop from now on, they are rather small, but I have the greatest fondness for them.

落花生の花

トマトやナスの収穫、整枝に追われてしばらくほったらかしにしていた落花生、ふと見ると花がいっぱい。露草に似た形で黄色が清清しい。
When I glanced at peanut that I hadn't looked for weeks because we'd been too busy with harvesting and pruning of tomatos and eggplant, I found many flowers. Their shape is like that of day flower and yellow color is so refreshing.

今日の収穫

今朝はあっという間に伸びてしまったゴーヤーのためにネットを掛けて、ツルをそのネットに誘引してきました。でもそれはほとんど夫の仕事で、私はせっせと雑草取り。辛いけど、この頃は行くたびに右のような収穫があるので頑張れます。
We laid a net for fast-growing Goya, or bitter gourd, and drew its vines to the net this morning. However, it's my husband's job while I pulled weeds like Trojan. It's painful, but I can go on becasue in the end, we can get harvest as in the left picture whenever we go to the field.
