八重山行ってきました！ Trip to Yaeyama Island

8月19日　西表島で川上り
Aug. 19 Canoeing on Iriomote Island

一人でカヌーに乗るのは初めてで、最初ゆらゆら、アダンの茂みに突撃しそうになってどきどきしたけど、慣れると行きたい方向へすぐ行けるし風が気持ちいいし、楽しい～！
It was a first time for me to ride canoe by myself. At first I can't control my canoe well so that I was about to crash in the Pandanus odoratissimus bush. As soon as I got used to it; however, I could go any direction I want and I could feel nice breeze.


8月２０日　竹富島－西の桟橋で
Aug. 20 At West Pier on Taketomi Island

日没直前で、雨雲が出てきて、幻想的な空間でした。
It was right before sunset with lots of rain cloud, which made a tranluner scene.


8月２１日　竹富島沖でシュノーケリング
Aug. 21 Snorkeling in the waters off Taketomi Island

これも初体験で最初はおっかなびっくり。でもファインディング・ニモでおなじみのクマノミに出会えたり、目の前を魚の大群が横切ったりで大感激しました。さんご礁もきれいでした。

This was also the first experience, so I was a little frightened at first. But I was so excited to find a parent and baby clownfish and to watch a school of blue fish passing in front of me. Coral reefs were also very beautiful.

ミントの花 Mint Flower

日当たりの悪い玄関先で、時々水＋肥料をやるだけでほったらかしのミントが今花盛り。白い花が可憐で涼しげです。

Mint at our entrance which does't get much sunshine is now flowering, though I just sometimes give water and plant food and do nothing else. Its white flower is pretty and looks cool.

我が家のペット、プエル Puel, Our pet

うわ、もう２ヶ月近くもこの日記、ほったらかしだったんですねえ。
とりあえず飼い始めて4年目に突入した我が家のペット、プエルを紹介します。
子供たちがアトピーなので毛があるものは一切ダメ、というわけで娘が飼い始めたカメです。最初はこんなもの飼わなくても、と思っていたのですが、餌を手から食べたり、呼ぶと振り向いたり（のような気がするだけ？）結構可愛いもんです。今じゃみんなのアイドルです。

Oops, I 've left this diary untended for almost one month.
To start again, I'd like to introduce our pet, Puel whom we kept for nearly 4 years. As our kids have atopic disease, our doctor forbidded us to keep any animal with hair, our daughter picked this red-eared slider as her pet. At first I was skeptical about this tiny animal could be a pet, but now he/she eats his/her food from our hand and sometimes he/she seems to look back when we called his/her name. Now we all think he/she is so cute.
