雪の日

昨日は未明から雪が降り続き、朝起きたらご覧の通りの雪景色で、朝食後に散歩に出かけました。一応カラー写真なんですけど、見事にモノクロの景色ですね。寒かったけど、いつもと違う景色にわくわくしました。

夕方、沖縄の友人から桜が届きました。沖縄ではピークを過ぎているのだそうです。雪景色の東京に桜花盛りの沖縄。日本って南北に長いのだということを、改めて実感した一日でした。

It kept snowing all day long yesterday and I woke up to find out such a beautiful snowy landscape. My daughter and I went out for walking in the snow. Though the picture above is actually in color, it looks perfect monochrome. It was terribly cold walk, but we enjoyed different, snowy landscape.

I received cherry blossoms from my friend in Okinawa. She says they have altready had it there. Snow in Tokyo and blooming cherry blossom in Okinawa. It reinforces the reality that Japan extends north and south.
